With the pandemic putting e-commerce and online grocery stores at the forefront, Amazon has strengthened its position in the market. Besides online shopping and fulfilment offerings, Amazon’s whole array of services like audiobook and Prime TV programs have seen a boost in usage.
Amazon-owned live game-streaming platform Twitch is also allowing all users to host “watch parties” on the platform. This piece posits that “no other company is as well-positioned as Amazon to succeed during the pandemic.”
Other brands are sponsoring entire slots on television as they look for relevant ways to reach consumers who are avoiding stores. American retail company Target is sponsoring a simulcast of family-friendly movies across NBC Universal’s chain of networks.
