Pinterest launches a new “Shop” tab to enhance product discovery for consumers

The number of users “engaging with shopping on Pinterest” is up 44% YoY, as per the company.

Customers can now find in-stock fashion or home decor products from retailers with a new “Shop” tab appearing on Search and on Pinterest boards. The feature displays products inspired by the Pins that users have saved to their home decor or fashion boards.

The Shop tab, launched on Tuesday, will include prices and brand filters. Visual search feature has also been integrated directly in shoppable Pins, for users to easily discover and purchase similar products.

Consumers can further access new home decor style guides through Search. Pinterest had reported a 2.5 times increase in the number of shoppable Product Pins, whereas traffic to retailers has been up 2.3 times since 2019.
