Google’s search improvements would help people find out which restaurants are still offering deliveries or takeout facilities during the pandemic. The update also includes new ways to make prominent announcements on Google News.

The search engine giant has enabled health and government agencies to add “SpecialAnnouncement structured data” to their web pages or submit a “COVID-19 announcement in Search Console” to highlight announcements in Google Searches. Google has also published recommendations to help authoritative websites make public information about COVID-19 more visible within search results.

The new COVID-19 experience on Google News would enable users to view relevant tweets from local authorities, latest authoritative updates and get access to WHO’s latest guidelines on the pandemic. Google has also added the takeout and delivery labels on Google Search and Maps.
