Marketers say they spend 31% of their 2019 budgets on visual content

Venngage studied marketers to understand how they used visual content in 2019 and how they plan to use it in 2020.

This piece states 74% of marketers said that more than 70% of their content contained some form of visual in 2019, which was 10.5% increase from 2018. 40% of the most frequently used visual content were stock images, while 34% were original graphics like illustrations and infographics.

40% of marketers also said that original graphics helped them reach their marketing goals in 2019. But only 13% said the stock images helped them achieve their marketing targets. 

The article states that almost half of marketers think visual content is very important to their marketing strategy. 40% of marketers predict that between 51% and 80% of businesses would rely heavily on visuals as a part of marketing strategies in 2020 and 2021.
