A new Transparency center will also be launched in LA for local support and increasing revenue potential in the US market.

After recent criticism over its content moderation policies, TikTok announced a US-based Content Advisory Council to develop “forward-looking” policies. TikTok aims to resolve its policy decisions and concerns around potential data-sharing concerns through the Content Advisory Council.

The Chinese social networking platform will improve the challenges in the content moderation area with the Council. TikTok also hopes to work with US leaders and focus on topics such as platform integrity and policies against misinformation and election interference.

The new council members will include academics and professionals from George Washington University Law School, Stanford University and the Global Internet Freedom Project. The members are also expected to plan ahead for any future issues.
