There is an opportunity for CPG and grocery brands to benefit.
A DISQO report has revealed that 46% of Americans have reported making purchases due to coronavirus. 67% say they’ve made no fundamental changes to their purchasing habits. Cleaning supply purchases were up 32% week-over-week in March and personal health sales increased 24%.
The study revealed that Covid-19-related page views from 7 to 9 March were 59% higher than the 29 Feb to 2 March weekend. The research found that only 13% of respondents “stocked up” on cleaning supplies.
And, 41% of consumers bought cleaning supplies over the 7 to 9 March weekend. Those in the CPG and grocery space must utilise the opportunity to reach consumers that are ordering online or are making the grocery shopping lists.
