Ecommerce will make up 22% of all retail sales globally by 2023.

A separate 2019 study found that e-commerce giant Amazon, fended off challenges from DTC brands, to be the leading mobile online shopping app in terms of reach in the US, followed by retail-giant Walmart.
Despite the rise in mobile purchases, desktops still remained the top purchasing device for last year’s holiday season shopping. Windows operating systems continued to be the dominant operating system that customers used to place online orders.
A separate Statista study also indicated that direct to site, email and SEO were the leading traffic sources. Globally 43% of shoppers researched products via social networks, while high shipping costs remain the biggest reason for cart abandonment.
