Target ranks eight among the top 10 US ecommerce brands

Amazon expected to reach around 40% of US retail ecommerce sales in 2020.

According to eMarketer, Target’s ecommerce business is predicted to increase by 24.0% to $8.34 billion this year. It has surpassed three of its competitors to rank 8th among the top 10 US ecommerce brands. The total share of Target is expected to grow by 1.2% compared to 1.1% in 2019.

The report states that Macy’s is excepted to drop to 10th position, while Quarte will be out of the top 10 rankings for the first time. Costco will occupy the 9th position with just $10 million short in ecommerce sales as compared to Target.

eMarketer’s forecasting analyst, Cindy Liu attributed Target’s rise to the brand’s store fulfilment options including in-store pickup, drive-up and delivery with Shipt. Amazon’s growth is expected to grow to 38.7%, up from 37.3% in 2019.
