The total media value for video streamers in 2019 was $1.2 billion.
Media Research company, iSpot.tv, shares that video streaming services could double the total advertising media value (including paid advertising spending) to $2.3 billion in 2020. iSpot.tv forecasts that this value could be more given Quibi’s projections of spending $400 million to $500 million in 2020.
This total includes paid ad spending and ads placed by media companies that own TV networks. Amazon Prime Video took the lead with its total advertising media value in 2019 being $221.8 million. It also leads in season to-date in 2020 through 11 February with $48.6 million.
At $129.6 million in 2019, Apple TV+ took second place. Since its launch in November 2019, Disney+ was at $99.7 million for the year. So far in 2020, it is $21.4 million.
