As per a study conducted by Socialbakers cited in this article, the total audience size on Instagram overtook that of Facebook in Q4 2019. Total interactions on Instagram were observed to be about twenty times larger than those on Facebook.

The article highlights that Instagram achieved a 66.7% boost in engagement in the services category in Q4 2019, in comparison to Q3 2019. At 7.6% of total interactions, services ranked fourth on Facebook.

58% of brand page followers are female on Instagram, a majority of every age demographic. Women accounted for 56.7% of total audience page fans on Facebook. In Q4 2019, 90.5% influencers used #Ad or a local language version in their posts on Instagram.
