Brands can leverage the visual search to effectively promote and sell products on social media.
A National Research Group (NRG) study found that 7 in 10 consumers who are aware of visual search (VS) said they are likely to try it, with Gen Z and Millennials leading it. Further, the majority of Gen Zers are currently using shoppable feed experiences to learn more about brands.
VS users are also 50% more likely to be influenced to make purchase decisions or engage with brands because of social media. But, 59% of consumers still need a better understanding of how VS works and how it can improve their lives.
The report says consumers are likely to try VS as it leverages camera to provide immediate information and inspirations. Moreover, shopping is the top app category that consumers would use more if VS was integrated.
