A Campaign Monitor report found email marketing campaigns observed a bounce rate of 0.7% and an unsubscribe rate of 0.1% last year.
Based on a survey of customers and clients from 171 countries, the average email open rate across industries was found to be 17.8%. The click through rates were 2.6%, while click-to-open rates averaged to 14.3% across all industries in the past year.
Government emails performed best with 30.50% email open rates, which was followed by non-profits and other industries like agricultural and real estate. The average open rate for advertising and marketing agencies was 19.30%, the bounce rate was 1.10%.
The article also states that 38% of US consumers were driven to action via email in 2019. Campaign Monitor’s director of marketing Lane Harbin suggests marketers can utilise this information to enhance their email marketing strategies for 2020.
