Onclusive analysed 15,000 anonymised Business Wire news releases over the past few months.

The timing of a news release can significantly impact the number of syndicates that carry the press statement, according to an Onclusive research. Tuesday at 8 AM Eastern is the most popular time for PR teams to target journalists with their releases.

Onclusive’s president, Sean O’Neal, says that these popular days and times to release news may not be the most effective at driving results. Since the activity is concentrated in such “narrow windows”, a brand’s release may be overlooked.

While Tuesdays are ideal for general releases, Fridays are suitable for stories that are less about hard news. Further, social media amplification for all PR releases is greater on weekends. Additionally, using multimedia in press releases boosts social media amplification by about 12%.
