31% of US consumers are suffering from "digital overload"

Excess of screen time can potentially cause detrimental effects on brain health.

Research commissioned by Two Sides, a graphic communications non-profit found that about half of consumers (48%) in the US and Canada believe that they spend a lot of time on electronic devices. 53% of respondents are worried that their overuse of electronic devices could be damaging their health.

The study highlights that US adults spend more than six hours per day on digital media. While teens spend up to nine hours each day. Nearly a third of the survey respondents (29%) said that they feel they’re suffering from “digital overload.”

68% of Americans prefer print media over digital. Respondents between 18 – 24 years of age mostly prefer digital media when it comes to perusing newspapers (62%) and magazines (53%). The research was conducted among 2,100 respondents in North America.
