Changing video consumption habits would drive the growth.
This article cites an Ericsson Mobility report as per which video would account for 75% of all mobile bandwidth by 2025. Video is currently growing at a 30% rate. It currently accounts for 60% of the total mobile bandwidth.
Further, the relative share of traffic of social-network content is expected to slip to around 8% in 2025, having been 10% in 2019. The content in itself will jump 20% annually over the next six years.
The rise could be driven by people consuming more content on the go as compared to viewing at home. By 2025, the report goes on to state that, mobile data per smartphone would reach 45 gigabytes from 10 gigabytes in 2019.
