TripAdvisor claims that almost half of the travellers say the website “inspired” them to visit a new destination.
American travel website TripAdvisor launched TripAdvisor Connect to enable advertisers to run co-branded ads on Facebook and Instagram. It will allow advertisers to create ads using Facebook’s targeting features and TripAdvisor’s audience profiles, which are built using the company’s followers on Facebook and Instagram.
TripAdvisor’s Christine Maguire said that TripAdvisor Connect could help advertisers engage with large high-intent audiences beyond the brand’s website and app visitors. But the ads will appear as co-branded posts with TripAdvisor’s logo and company name along with the tag of “Paid Partnership”.
Though the pricing will vary based on audience size and targeting, ads can be purchased on a CPM model or performance model. The company also said that it plans to expand to media channels beyond Facebook and Instagram.
