Encouraging retail employees to bring their own devices to work can improve productivity

According to a Dell study, 61% of millennials believe that they are more productive on their own tech. This piece argues that implementing BYOD (bring your own device) for retail staff can improve sales and encourage employees to be brand advocates.

Enabling BYOD in retail stores can also help brands understand the efficiency of store-level communication and its alignment with the company’s goals. In-store employees have direct access to shoppers as well as an opportunity to build a relationship with them.

The author contends that employee created content (ECC) can have a “dramatic effect of the scale, engagement and relevancy of digital media, especially at the local level.” Encouraging employees to create ECC can help brands expand their corporate marketing strategies with a local touch.
