Holiday retail sales in the US predicted to grow between 4.5% and 5% in 2019

Deloitte’s annual holiday retail forecast revealed that holiday retail sale is estimated to grow between 4.5% and 5% in 2019, likely to exceed $1.1 trillion through November to January 2020. The study projects e-commerce sales to grow by 14-18% year-over-year, in comparison to 11.2% in the previous year.

E-commerce sales are predicted to be between $144 billion and $149 billion this season. Daniel Bachman, economic forecaster at Deloitte observes elated consumer confidence which will boost holiday spending.

Also predicted is a strong growth rate in December 2019 as opposed to 2018’s modest growth. Rod Sides, vice chairman at Deloitte LLP and US adds that a strong holiday season is anticipated in 2019 based on the growth in “consumer disposal income and spending indicator.”
