Facebook Dating rolls out in the US

A user’s Facebook Dating profile will not be connected to their main Facebook account.

Having initially been introduced in May 2018, Facebook Dating has now been launched in the US. This makes it the product’s 20th country to be launched in. A “completely opt-in” product, a user’s dating profile will be separate from their main profile.  

Further, a user’s Facebook Dating activity will be confined within the feature and will not be shown anywhere else on Facebook. When people decide to create their profile on Facebook Dating, they could set it up from scratch or pull out data from their Facebook profiles which can be edited or removed.

The only information that will be auto-filled in Facebook Dating is the user’s first name and age. Any profile blocked on a user’s main Facebook account will not appear as matches in suggestions in the Dating profile.
