Zenith’s report is based on data across 57 markets.
Consumers worldwide are spending 130 minutes daily accessing mobile internet, up from 80 minutes daily in 2015. Consumers then are spending 800 hours a year on average accessing content through mobile, by 2021 this is predicted to rise to 930 hours.
Currently, 27% of global media consumption is attributed to mobile internet usage and by 2021 this will increase to 31%. With the growing use of mobiles, average media global consumption now is 479 minutes daily and is forecasted to increase to 495 minutes per day by 2021.
However, due to the rise of content consumption on mobile, consumers now spend 11 minutes a day reading print newspapers, down from 17 minutes in 2014. Magazine consumption in 2019 is 4 minutes a day down from 8 minutes in 2014.
