The latest YouGov polling shows support for the Alternative Vote in a referendum on voting change dropping to 39%, just one point ahead of First Past the Post on 38%.

We have been tracking how people would vote in a referendum on the adoption of AV since the coalition deal was signed, and this is the smallest lead for AV we have recorded so far - a fortnight ago AV had a lead of 13 points, and our polling has generally shown a lead of around 10 points for supporters of a switch to AV.

Latest voting intentions in a general election are CON 42%, LAB 35%, LDEM 15%, which on a uniform swing would give the Conservatives a narrow overall majority.
