Nearly a third (32%) of Britons pay £10 or less for a haircut, whilst almost a fifth (18%) pay nothing at all, according to a recent YouGov poll.
In comparison, only one in seven spend more than £30. Meanwhile, 17% say they spend £11 to £20 on a haircut and 13% between £21 and £30.
Men less lavish than women
An overwhelming majority (77%) of men spend less than £10 on a haircut or nothing at all, whereas less than a quarter (23%) of females fall into the same bracket. Fewer than one in ten (8%) women pay nothing for a haircut, while nearly half (45%) pay within the region of £11 and £30.

Londoners most likely to splash out
One in eight (13%) Londoners pay more than £40 for their haircut, compared to just 4% of people in the Midlands and Wales and 6% of Northerners.
In a role reversal, those from the Midlands and Wales are most likely to pay £5 to £10 for their haircut (36%), whereas just 24% of Londoners spend the same amount. In every region, though, the highest percentages of residents are paying between £5 and £10 for a haircut.
