2010 has seen big changes, personalities, sporting achievements and storylines.

The first of an annual roundup of the biggest and most memorable events and moments of the year, the YouGov awards will celebrate all the best stories that have been on the public’s mind in the past 12 months.

We’ll find out what the nation has been watching, reading and listening to, as well as revealing who the public has been looking up to by crowning the winner of the YouGov Sports, TV and Reality TV Personality 2010 contest.

We will also be honouring the public’s Politician of the Year, as well as revealing exactly what Brits see as the single biggest Event of 2010.

Awards will be given in the following categories and reported exclusively in The Sun newspaper as well as appearing daily here on our website.

  • YouGov Sports Personality and Sporting Moment of the Year
  • YouGov Album and Single of the Year
  • YouGov Soap, Soap Plot and TV Show of the Year
  • YouGov TV Personality of the Year
  • YouGov Reality TV Star of the Year
  • YouGov Film of the Year
  • YouGov Book of the Year
  • YouGov Politician of the Year
  • YouGov Event 2010

Methodology

YouGov interviewed over 2,000 British adults, asking them to provide nominations for each award. For each award, the top 10 nominated in each category were included as individual options in a question to a separate 2,000 respondents (nationally representative) to select a winner. Only responses to those who selected a winner for each award have been included in the results.
