In our recent survey looking at popular action shows of the 1980s, The A-Team has topped a poll as the action show of the era that people most remember watching. The hit TV show, which was recently made into a full length film starring Liam Neeson and Jessica Biel (pictured), got 69% of the public’s vote. British cult hit, The Professionals came second with 57%.

When it comes to which 80s show is best, however, ‘crime-action’ drama The Professionals and The A-Team came out joint favourite (21%), leaving a host of popular shows like Quantum Leap (17%), Miami Vice (9%), Magnum P.I. (7%), Airwolf (4%) in its wake.

Shows on the silver screen

With the The A-Team having recently been released as a full-length film starring Liam Neeson, we asked which show should come next on the movie make list. The Professionals came top, at 17%, followed by The Six Million Dollar Man at 16%. However, 42% of the public said they wouldn’t like to see any of the TV shows listed make a modern day return to the big screen.

And don’t be surprised if you hear some people humming along: 23% think The A-Team had the best theme tune, followed by Knight Rider (15%), and The Professionals with nine percent of the musical vote.
