With the economic outlook improving, YouGov has brought together a number of internal data sources to understand the holiday booking behaviour of UK consumers, and how it is affected by an upturn in household finance and consumer confidence.

Whether consumers expect to spend more on holidays this year compared to previous years is explored, as is the specific type of break they are planning to have. The tendency to book shorter but more frequent breaks is a feature of the study.

With the holiday season looming into view, when do people book their holidays? And what characterises early, impulse and organised bookers? Our Profiles data digs deeper into the differing consumer groups.
