This morning's daily voting intention poll for the Sun shows figures of Conservative 40%, Labour 39%, Liberal Democrat 11%.

The Lib Dems are back into double figures, suggesting the 9% they scored yesterday was something of an outlier (all polls have a margin of error of around 3%, so if the underlying level of Liberal Democrat support is around 11% as our recent polls have suggested, one would expect an occasional poll showing them at 9%, or 13%).

However, the drop in the government's approval rating we recorded yesterday appears to be more substantial. Yesterday it was minus 10, the lowest the coalition government had recorded, today it is minus 9, still their second lowest rating.
