The volume score has peaked at 79 in the past 48 hours, up 54 points, with a sentiment score of 50, inflated by a recent increase of 25. Tygs on the subject are generally positive, with tyggers describing the tournament as a ‘great sporting event’, ‘civilised’ and ‘great tennis entertainment for the next two weeks’. Some have welcomed the event as proof that ‘summer is definitely here’ and others have praised the matches so far – with one predicting a ‘Nadal-Murray final’ and another cheering on the Scot with a hopeful ‘Come on Murray!’
Not all tyggers are basking in the glory of Wimbledon, however, with several complaining that it is not enjoyable to watch, and one writing ‘[it’s] boring – get it off the TV’. Some have mentioned the football World Cup clash with Wimbledon, lamenting that football headlines always override tennis ones. Another simply grumbled ‘Oh God, here we go again…’
The overall feeling is positive, though, and while the topic has taken a hit in the past 24 hours, it remains at a still respectable 46 volume points and a sentiment score of 31 on the leaderboard as a whole. Watch this space to see if the scores bounce back.
